Firstly I must congratulate you on your fantastic website,
well done! I have e-mailed you because I need your help. I have been
collecting PenDelfin for over 3 years now, and for the last 2 years I have
been desperately trying to find Rosa. Has anybody got her in mint
condition? Also I have only been a member of PenDelfin Family Circle for 1
year, but I am eager to collect all previous Pieces of the Year and
Membership pieces. If anybody has either Rosa or
membership/pieces of the year that they are willing to sell can they
please contact me on the address below.
Many thanks and fingers crossed!!

Dear Stel
Thanks for your e-mail, I would love it if you could post my plea for
Rosa on your website!
My location in the universe is Sunny Sheffield, so postage cost for any
pieces I may wish to buy shouldn't be too much.
Once again many thanks for your help, and hopefuly I should hear
something soon.
Regards
Sally

Hello!
When my wife was a little girl,
in the early to mid 70s, she collected PenDelfin rabbits - she has several rabbits
(and what looks like a PenDelfin bear!). We don't know if
they're retired, still being made, or anything at all about them,
actually! Could you give me some pointers to go by to identify
what we have?
The names underneath are (except the bear,
which doesn't have one):
Dodger, Phumf, The Trumper, Maud, Robert,
Muncher, Rocky, Pond, Barney, Piano and plant, Wakey.
Many thanks.

Reply: We don't think there was ever a PenDelfin Bear. Please
email us a picture if you can. All others pieces are now retired and are
worth a "bob or two". Click on this link for info: PenDelfin

Found
this enjoyable letter on a web site (June 2001) and took the liberty to
present it here...
I
would just like to thank everyone who organised the event in Wales this
weekend. Iam sure that you will all agree that it was really well run. I
know that my husband and I had a really great time and made some lovely
new friends.
Hi
there to Marie and Alan, Mavis and Ron and Margaret and her dog Taz (such
a cute dog)
Anyway
see you all at the Auction in Burnley in October. Happy bunny collecting
in the meantime.
Bev
and Matt.

HELLO
AM
VERY INTERESTED IN PURCHASING SANDIE, THE WELSH COLOURWAY FOR MY WIFE. SHE IS
FROM BERMUDA AND WAS ORIGINALLY WAS STARTED ON THE COLLECTION BY HER GRANNY. HER
GRANNY WAS BORN IN WALES AND MOVED TO BERMUDA AS A LITTLE GIRL. IF THERE
ARE ANY AVAILABLE, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION AS WHERE TO
PURCHASE.
THANK
YOU, WARREN COOK

A
very touching letter.
We requested more information on the WELSH GRANNY
and here is the reply.
Can any of our Welsh Collectors associate with it? It
will be also interesting to know the names of any early pieces and possibly rare
pieces the COOK family might have. |
HELLO
STEL
I
AM NOT SURE WHERE IN WALES "GRANNY BUTTERFIELD " WAS FROM. BUT
FAMILY LEGEND HAS HER MOVING TO BERMUDA IN THE EARLY 1900'S. HER SURNAME
WAS HOWELLS, I THINK. SHE PASSED QUITE A FEW YEARS AGO AND SO HAS MY
WIFE'S DAD, SO THINGS ARE A LITTLE FOGGY WITHOUT ANYONE TO ASK. WE HAD NOT BEEN
ACTIVELY SEEKING PenDelfinS OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS DUE TO OUR OWN "LITTLE
BUNNIES". BUT I WAS ABLE TO FIND "GRAN" RECENTLY FOR
MY WIFE AND IT HAS STARTED THE BALL ROLLING AGAIN. WE HAVE OVER 100 IN THE
COLLECTION, BUT I AM SURE MY WIFE WILL TREASURE "WELSH SANDIE" AS WELL
AS "GRAN" A LITTLE MORE
THANK
YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP
WARREN
COOK
P.S.
FEEL FREE TO USE ANY OF MY WRITINGS ON YOUR " PenDelfin LOVERS CORNER"
AS YOU WISH.

EVENT DAY
Just
a short note to say how much we enjoyed your PenDelfin Event Day last Saturday.
You certainly had a large response and we understand some started queuing as
early as 8am.
The
new Welsh Sandie has been given a new home and has now settled in with her
friends and so far no fights or squabbles.
In
1928 my parents were working at the Rest Bay Convalescent Home and visiting you
gave me my first opportunity to see where they first met all those years ago.
Once
again many thanks for a wonderful day.
Sincerely
Colin
and Brenda Millington

Hello there,I have been reading your website with interest. I
have attached a photo of a rabbit I have at the moment, can you tell me if it
is PenDelfin, and if so the name of the piece? Thank you so much for taking the time to read my message,
Best wishes,
Dawn
OUR REPLY...I
am afraid it is not a PenDelfin. We believe the picture shows a WOODLANDER
piece, made in the 80’s, in an attempt to copy the PenDelfin rabbits.
PenDelfin
pieces are in general less dense (lighter) and their design tends to
be more smooth (not too many surface anomalies). Thank you for visiting our web.
Regards, Stel.
Thank
you so very much for taking the time to reply. It is greatly
appreciated. Congratulations on your website, I enjoyed my
"visit", Best wishes Dawn.
